The Dreaming Place
The Artist on her art:

“I have been drawing all my life and painting professionally for approximately 25 years. With no formal training, I have enthusiastically studied the work of John Singer Sargent and his contemporaries, whose work I love and admire. I paint a variety of subjects including figures in interiors, still lifes, and landscapes. I especially enjoy painting the human face because of its expressiveness.”

About the Artist:
Susan has participated in numerous group shows in galleries, at the Palette and Chisel Club, Chicago, and in Marin County, California. Susan has won several awards for her paintings and drawings in Texas and California, including Best of Show from Oil Painters of America in a Texas Regional Show, and most recently First Place for Drawing at the Marin County Fair. A consistent prize winner at the annual Artist’s Christmas, Ft. Worth, Susan has won The Public’s Choice, Art Dealers’ Assoc. Choice, and Best of Show in that event. Her work was also featured in Southwest Art Magazine, in an article entitled “The Feminine Form”. Susan’s work is in the homes and businesses of collectors throughout the United States, in Europe, and in Russia. She is a member of the prestigious Portrait Society of America and the California Art Club.

Recent accolades include:

November 2011 - A one-woman show of 34 recent works, Mill Valley, California Arts Commission
Summer 2011 - First Place in the Drawing Category of the Marin County Fair, for a charcoal drawing of “Jen”.
